Son Parc Beach, which is also called Son Saura del Nord, is one of the most well-known gems of the coastal area of Menorca, and one of Es Mercadal's best beaches.
It is famous for the fine white sand, clear turquoise water, and preserved natural plantings. This beach is an excellent place for people of all age groups to enjoy and get out of the year.
Son Parc Beach is a 320 meters long sandy beach with the average width of 30 meters. It is situated in a bay which is sheltered from winds that come from the South, East, and West. This additional feature is especially suitable for the families with small children, because they can play and swim safe.
Due to the beach that has formed at the back of the protected dune system, the heights of the dunes are between 1 and 5 meters. These are naturally occurring formations and play a crucial role in the local ecosystem. They are also marked with small rope barriers that direct visitors to the beach on one hand and ensure that they do not harm the environment on the other.
Son Parc Urbanization, is at the corner of the beach, you can rest or have fun. The beach provides rentals of sunbeds, umbrellas, and water sport services such as kayaking and sailing with sea cars. Also, there are chiringuitos and restaurants nearby where you can have local dishes without having to move away from the sea area (shoreline).
It is not difficult to get to the beach as there is a dirt parking lot on the western side of the beach, where the main parking area is located. Also, it is possible to park in the nearby residential area and walk down some wooden stairs on the eastern side.
For those who want to travel without a car, there are the summer bus lines from Son Parc to cities on the island like Maó, Es Mercadal, or Ciutadell33a.
The Son Parc urbanization is located to the east of the beach, offering accommodation in villas, apartments, and hotels surrounded by a pine forest that provides shade and coolness during the hottest days. The proximity to the beach, along with all the amenities of the residential area, makes for a comfortable and delightful stay, easily accessible to tourists.
One of the main attractions in the area is the Son Parc Golf, the only one of its kind on Menorca. This 18-hole park, surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, offers a unique experience for both experienced golfers and beginners looking to try the sport.
For nature lovers and hikers, the Camí de Cavalls, a trail that surrounds the island, passes through Son Parc. This path offers the chance to explore other nearby beaches, such as Cala Pudent, just over a kilometer away on foot along the shoreline. Additionally, a few kilometers away is Cala Tosqueta, a little-known beach sheltered from the Tramontana wind.
